Interview with Australian Pop Star Giulietta!

Greetings Addicts!

This time we are going to switch it up and take you beyond Amerika and into the REAL BOTTOM OF THE MAP! We went down under and found this talented and unique young lady named “Giulietta”! Why a singer with a BILLBOARD charting dance song (Number 16 to be exact) gave us the time of day…we will never know! But we think she is talented and will make it far! We also received an awesome biography from her too. Which we will share before the interview, so you can know Giulietta means business!

—-CHECK OUT HER AWESOME STORY!

Though a new comer to the music scene, Giulietta has won praise from her fellow industry piers via her strong natural singing abilities that have only improved with the aid of vocal training. Whilst fame can often blind, Giulietta has kept a humble outlook knowing that she couldn’t have reached such heights without the ongoing support of her dear friends, family and mentors.

A native of Melbourne, Australia, Giulietta has made many strong musical connections, such as that of renowned DJ and producer Marcus Knight. Known for his Electro and RnB style, Knight was an early musical influence for Giulietta and would help to spawn her early sleeper hit ‘Dirty House Music’ (globally played and launching at number #4 on the BeatPort charts as well as being featured twice on the ARIA Club Charts). A pairing with multiple time Grammy Award winner David Kershenbaum was to follow and bringing with it the genius behind such stars as Janet Jackson, Tracey Chapman and Bryan Adams. This latest partnership produced Giulietta’s debut album Ascension – available online from April 13, 2010.

Impressed with this fresh young starlet, critics have feature her in such publications as The Herald Sun (one of Australia’s largest nationally syndicated newspapers) as well as an interview on Today Tonight (a highly rated current affairs program). Domestic success soon spread abroad, with Giulietta being honoured with an International Pop Artist of the Year Award at the Los Angeles Music Awards in Hollywood last November. It was here that she performed the single ‘Here We Go Again’, before collecting a Producers Choice Award and a Hollywood Walk of Fame Award.

Giulietta’s latest work includes a hot club remix by Billboard chart topper Dave Aude (Bad Romance), as well as mixes from Rob Orton (remixer of Lady Gaga’s Just Dance & Poker Face), Chris Cox (Rihanna & Brittany Spears) and many more collaborations on the horizon.

Listen for the debut single Vertigo from Giulietta’s first album Ascension, which reached No.16 on the US Billboard Dance Charts, while the music video can be seen on CoolTV and Yahoo Music

Giulietta is a proud representative of Bardot Clothing and Fashion. To find out more, please visit Bardot Online.

Interview with Milwaukee’s own Prophetic!

Greetings Addicts!

Today we have an interview with Milwaukee’s own “Prophetic”. A rapper/lyricist who has been on the grind and making a name outside of the confines of Milwaukee. Who has been praised by industry heavy weights such as Jay-Z and Pharrel Williams of The Neptunes? Who has even been heard on TV with placements on “Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations” and ESPN’s X-Games? Who has performed across the country with artists such as N.E.R.D, Jay Electronica, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa and Christian Rich? PROPHETIC HAS!

Here is the interview…

What’s the first thing you would say to someone when they ask you to describe yourself as an artist?

I am artist with the potential to walk the fine line of commercial & underground appeal.

How long have you been in the industry?

I’ve been involved in music my whole life. Since my mom had me in church choir. But me and my business partners have been marketing and promoting ourselves for about 5 years.

How did you get started?

I started out rhyming in my notebook. Then for my neighborhood. That led to a talent show. Which led to recording. Projects. Bigger shows. And through the whole process I grew in my understanding and want of making this a career.

Where are you from originally?

Born & raised in Milwaukee, WI!!! Capitol St!!!!!

Do you have any projects out now?

I have my first album Mo Profit Mo Progress available on ITunes. I have free webtapes available for download at umbrellasup.com (Umbrella Music Group) and my upcoming project MPMP2 is coming in February

Do you have anything special as far as shows or events coming up in the future?

I have some upcoming college arena shows with Wiz Khalifa coming in April. I will most likely be at Summerfest this year also.

What inspires your music?

I am inspired through my life as well as others around me. Other artists inspire me. Television. Movies. It comes from everywhere which adds to my universal appeal.

What artists in the industry inspire you the most today? Why is that?

I am inspired by artist who choose to be themselves. I enjoy Kid Cudi. Kanye. I like Pink Floyd a lot too.

What makes you different from other artist today?

What makes me different is my perspective. It comes from a dreamer. It comes from someone who is a little rough around the edges. But I am also conscious of myself as a business. I feel I’m able to nurture my creative side without being ignorant to politics associated with my career. My art and passion is my also my product.

What do you want your fans to know about you?

I want them to know that I represent them. I am a human. I’m nice. I’m angry. I love. I hate. I’m good. I’m bad. My music is free from the idea of contradiction. I do what I feel.

Where can we find your music at? Any websites?

My “Livin in the Sky” single off my upcoming MPMP2 album is featured on Sportscenter and the X-Games. For all music videos visit youtube.com/prophpeezy and umbrellasup.com!!!! Tweet me at @prophpeezy

Greetings Addicts!

This is the first post to introduce who we are and what we do! Amerikas Addiction is a hip-hop/pop/dance duo from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We are a fairly new group on the scene and plan on sticking around for a while. Amerikas Addiction consists of Joshua aka J-The Truth and David aka Ebonix/Addiction. J-The Truth is the man behind the beats and producer. While Ebonix/Addiction is the writer and rapper/vocalist.

This portion was created to spotlight our other interest. which is doing interviews with up and coming artists. Whether they are from Milwaukee or as far a way as Australia. Whether they do Hip-Hop or Heavy Metal, if we find them to be intriguing, we will interview them to help showcase them to our Addicts! (If you know Amerikas Addiction you already know what an ADDICT is!)

We hope you enjoy the interviews, this first posting is just a video of us…Amerikas Addiction performing a few songs and doing what we do! Feel free to watch and share.

Also, if you are an artist and feel you are “Legedary” and worthy of an interview, please contact us at
